I posted this elsewhere, but I'm Anna, married, mother of four (three grown daughters and one 12-year-old son) and grandmother of two. I love the outdoors, work with Boy Scouts, and home educate my boy. We live on farm, so I wear a lot of hats. 
 
I will have my surgery on October 26th after years of thinking, missing opportunities, not qualifying, cancer, and finally success.
 
I found this forum through a search, thinking I could use some support, but being miles away from anything like it in person.
 
My main purpose in having a RYGB is to resolve my Type 2 diabetes; the weight loss is secondary. I'm a little scared, but my family and friends have the expectation that I'll handle this as I've done all the other battles. I find this more daunting in a different way. Anyhow, I've written more on the pre-surgery forum (I should read messages before posting). Thanks for being here.
