My name is Vicki Steiner.  I found Bariatric Pal thru my surgery team.  I am six months out on my surgery and down 62 lbs and over 55 inches off my body.
I got my surgery because when my husband retires we want to travel and I dont want to see the many places we want to go to thru the motor home window.  I want to be healthy and live a better life then I was. 
I weighed 248 pounds when I finally decided that maybe my doctor was right when he  told me I was morbidly obese and I was very upset.  It took him a while to get me to look in the mirror and realize that I was fat.  I had tried every diet out there and I just couldn't do it on my own.  I knew then this was the way to go. 
It was very overwhelming when I started all this and went thru all the testing you need.  But I wanted this so much and another thing, wanting this surgery,  I had to have the nice little endoscopy which I had put off for 15 years.  I have an anxiety disorder and just could not talk myself into having the endoscope until they told me at the bariatric office that before they would do the surgery I had to get this done.  I was very proud of myself for doing the endoscopy and then the surgery.  I have not regretted getting this surgery .  I feel so much better about myself.  Everyday is a new day for me.  I actually like myself again.
