I've been overweight all my life... well since approximately 2 years of age. I got sick (ALOT) and when I got fevers or too hot I'd have a seizure. Docs put me on meds that slowed my metabolism. Between that and being sick all the time the weight just packed on. From teen to 25 I maintained a pretty stable weight of 260ish. Of course failing numerous diets, but at least I didn't gain. After I had my son the weight piled on again and I gained nearly 100 pounds in 2 years. Just this past year the doctors discovered I have a severe immune deficiency (ah ha so THATS why I'm always sick!). Unfortunately the treatment hasn't increased my lvls much. I'm still in the severely low range. They can't increase the lvl of medication because I'm at the MAX dose due to my weight. I had already been considering WLS so now with my life on the line the decision was clear. On Aug 25th 2014 I got the VSG. I'm excited to be healthy and enjoy life with my sweet little boy and incredible husband.
