My story is similar to many others. I grew up in a large extended family of morbidly obese relatives. Out of fear of becoming an obese adult, I became an anorexic and anemic teenager.
However, adulthood, 2 pregnancies, 2 divorces, and menopause have taken their toll. I am now 100 pounds overweight on a short petite frame.
My co-morbidities are many, and I have already had one stroke which forced my retirement. My spinal column is collapsing under my weight for which I have already had one four level fusion and may need others if I don't lose this weight.
With the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, I am hoping to finally feel good two days in a row! It will be so nice to be petite and healthy at the same time.
