Sept. 9,2011 I had heart failure from cardiac arrythmias. my family pleaded with me to live. so i went to the bariatric surgeon. i had already tried nutri-system, south beach diet and weight watchers. my diabetis was out of control. i was taking 200 units of insulin a day and still had high blood sugars. it took until May 29,2013 for my surgery to take place. the reason it took so long ,was, along the way i had many health crisis. my heart being the major obstacle. finally i had the surgery. i went in for gastric bypass but like my road to weight loss surgery this too was not going so well. my doctor ended up doing a lap band because my intestines had to many adhesions and scar tissue. my abdoman after surgery had 8 small incisions and 1 5 inch incision. my port is on the right side of abdoman. i developed congested heart failure after surgery so had to spend 1 extra day of hospitalization. i am tolerating the lap band well. my recovery from surgery was smooth. but, 1 month after surgery i fell and fractured my arm and wrist. i had to have surgery and 5 pins were put in to stablized. so exercise has been difficult and for the months of july and aug. all i could do is walk around the yard. but all is good.
