Hes seems like hes the flunkie who has to do things like "the nose" and "fills". How are you feeling? How many cc's did he put in? Could you choose or did he have an oppinion on where to start? You are on normal food now right?

He has no sense of humor, really dry. Mary has the same sarcasm I do which makes her fun to see! He put 5cc to start and had me drink Water to see how it went down... so he didn't want it sitting there... so we ended up with 4.25cc basically he went on my feedback. I think the syringe holds 6cc. I can basically eat what I could before, so I think I need more...but I am giving myself time to adjust. I am basically maintaining again. I have noticed when I lose a bunch of weight now, once I start eating again "normal" I don't gain. like the other week when I got sick, didn't gain that back either! First time in my life! I am happy with how it is going.

My doc said Clear Liquids for the first 24 hours, then full liquids till the 2 week mark, then mushies for the next 2 weeks, and at a month out I can transition to real food. The only exclusion to that is red meat, which I am not allowed to have for 6 months. But I know he's on the conservative side.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
