Tried chocolate Unjury, a teaspoon of Decaf instant coffee, 4oz Water and a couple ice cubes this morning in a blender........it wasn't too bad...... :)

Got up at 8am with a killer headache again.. took tylenol and went back to bed for a couple hours...... better for now.

I really don't dislike my family but when they eat and eat and bring in junk food and actually forget I'm on a diet and offer it to me ALL weekend....... well I'm getting a little resentful  .......This also might be why I stayed in bed a little longer this morning.

Ok, today I gagged on my Unjury--tried the chicken flavor, mixed it with milk then heated it in a bowl, it was a bit salty which was actually a good change, but by the end I was gagging it down...this was not good! I ordered more Unjury on Friday, and I am glad I left out the chicken flavor!

The chicken flavor is ok in an actual soup...... so after banding and when we can eat full liquids and soft foods mix it - it's a little better than by itself. I can suffer through it if it's mixed with Water and warm.

My usual trick is to make the cold Protein Drinks ahead of time and let them get real cold. Some I make with less liquid and just down it as fast as I can.

Thanks, I am glad I will be able to use in the future if not so much this week and next. I am going to try your suggestion of making the shakes ahead and getting them colder. I tried a bit of ice yesterday and that seemed to work well. I'm becoming partial to the chocolate!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
