Hi there... I haven't looked around to find this answer so I hope you can answer for me, if you don't mind :rolleyes2:

What's the problem with rice? Does it get stuck or is it a slider?

I had some last night and chewed it really well and had no problems. So that's when I started thinking, :w00t: that maybe it's a slider, not a sticker. :w00t:

:w00t: Um, now I'm telling on myself. I was banded Nov 20 and still supposed to be on full liquid. No fills yet. :rolleyes2: I am losing good (2 lbs / week) I guess because I'm still under 1000 cals per day.

You have no restriction so everything is slider food, LOL. Someday it may cause you an issue but that is several fills in the future. Enjoy as long as you can, I think!!!!

I was told not to have rice because it expands and continues to expand in your stomach. Not sure how true that is, but that is what I was told. LOL. For those of us who havent had a fill and have no restriction, be careful!!!! You quickly learn that without restriction, you can basically eat whatever you want. But you will pay for it with weight gain, as I did. Over Thanksgiving weekend I gained 6 pounds. Luckily, I am back on track, but I still have to be careful because I dont have that restriction.       Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
