Getting an unfill Monday and nervous

Recommended Posts

I have a 10CC band with 8.3cc's and I'm really having a hard time eating anything. I think I'm overfilled as it is but couple that with being 9 wks pregnant and I'm pretty miserable.

So here is the problem. I'm already thinking about and getting excited about all the wonderful foods I can eat when I unfilled. I'm so affraid of gaining. The plan was to have 4.3cc's removed. I don't remember feeling any difference between completely unfilled and 4cc's. Anything over that, it was painful to eat. After reading a lot of posts on here I see a lot of women get a total unfill. Now I don't know which to do. Total unfill or leave in 4 cc's. I do not want to have multiple unfills. I live 2 hrs from my doctor and can't really afford to keep going back.

Advice?

you should get a total unfill, You dont want a huge needle being poked around in your belly blindly because preggy chicks cant get flouro, god forbid if you have complications and need an unfill when you are further along in your pregnancy. Better to be safe than sorry my 2 cents.

I agree..i got a total unfill because i was worried about complications and i didnt want them to keep stickin me with that needle....also what if u get further along and are filled and have to keep gettin emergency unfills thats not good for u or ur baby....i jus hope nothin happens to my band as my belly gets bigger...my port side is really startin to hurt!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
