I was banded in August and I'm down a total of 20 pounds.

I had my second and last fill on Oct 27. I've not lost but maybe 2 pounds since then.

I am hungery. I don't tolerate any form of bread well at all, I feel as if I'm choking to death.

Am I too tight already. . . or do I need a fill. I've got a total of 3.5cc:confused:

I was banded on Aug 11th and I've had three fills. 6.75ccs in a 11cc Realize band. I am going in for my 4th fill next week. I am close to my sweet spot.

bread is okay with me if I take tiny bites about the size of a dime. Toast is easier.

Is bread the only food you can't tolerate? What about your Proteins? Water? Not being able to eat bread

doesn't really tell me anything since some people at restriction can eat it no problems, while others can't eat any even when thier band is empty of saline.

Can you go three to four hours between feeling hungry?

Carrie,

How do you do with Water and other foods? Is bread the only problem? I had a couple crackers with Peanut Butter on them for a snack last night and the first one kind of just sat there...and I don't have restriction yet. So perhaps you still 'aren't there' yet and just having difficulty with certain foods. As I understand it, difficulty with bread is fairly common.

Have you sat down with a nutritionist to discuss the foods you should be eating? Perhaps all you need is a little dietary tweaking and you will start losing. If you don't eat enough calories your body will hold onto fat.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
