It appears you do not have restriction. There is no amount that gives you restriction. I had my second fill and have 7.2 cc's in a 9 cc band and Though I am not as hungry I don't have restriction. Surprised they let you eat solid food the day after a fill but each doctor is different.

I have the Realize band and was told that most people don't reach restriction until at least 6 cc's. It sounds likely that you don't yet have restriction so it's not surprising that you're hungry.

I've never understood this whole idea of 'you only get to eat 1/2 cup even though, without restriction, you're going to be hungry' but you still have to do it and for . For those who can do it...more power to them...but I already told my doc that until I get to restriction, all bets are off. I'll try as hard as I can to stick to 1 cup but the idea is to get me to restriction before the will power caves.

Hey, if I could do this without the band, I wouldn't have spent the money and gone through surgery.

Yes the nurse told me that I may still not be full after the fill yesterday as well and that I may need to come back for more. Also I had my fill yesterday morning at 9am and had to do liquids for 24hrs so I was able to eat a late breakfast today and lunch.< /p>

Hang in there...I didn't have any 'real' restriction until my 3rd fill and am at my sweet spot after my 4th (but it takes some even more). Be patient (LOL, I wasn't either) and it will come. -BG

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
