OH BOY...1st fill...1st pb...

Recommended Posts

Got my 1st fill this past Thursday (1.5cc) and tried to eat salmon the 1st night. Well, what went down before is no more! I had 2-3 small bites and chewed WELL. I then had this burning in my stomach (not heartburn) and coughed. Well, when I coughed the food came up. I tried a forkful of meatloaf the next night and same thing. I can't cough when I eat or it will all come up. I have great restriction and it appears I will have to experiment all over again to see what food I can eat. Turkey and chicken are my food of choice even though I can only eat about 5 bites at a time. I still have this burning sensation in my stomach (pouch) with most food. Anyone else experience this?

Overall, things are going great!! I am so happy that I have this band to help me.

My doctor recommends a day or two after each fill. Solids are hard on a swollen stomach. Also, my fills feel tight for about 2 weeks and then it's as if I don't have a band.

This doesn't sound right. You should be able to eat more than 5 bites because although this sounds great it won't keep you full for 4 hrs. There also shouldn't be a burning sensation.

Is the coughing voluntary or involuntary? If you can control it great. But if you can't and you keep PBing on such small quantities of food then it may have been too much Fluid for you at one time.

Hopefully this settles down - if not talk to your Dr.

Thanks all, I am taking just liquids for a few days and will see what happens. I can't believe I have this much restriction on 1.5 cc's. I am sure the pb-ing did not help.
