Hi Everyone,

I was banded last November 2008. It's been an experience! Right now I am in search for Breakfast ideas that will jump start my metabolism for the day and not be too fattening or Gummy. I'm tired of Cereals and just yogurt. I don't do breads well. If anyone has some ideas I'm be extremely grateful. If you want you can email me at kimandsam2002@yahoo.com Thanks, Kimmie:thumbup:

I really like to do a serving of yogurt mixed with a 1/2 cup of Kashi Go Lean Cereal (has protein), and maybe a few berries or 1/2 a banana mixed in. If I don't do that, I've also tried one small pancake with Peanut Butter and strawberries, or what I usually do is a chocolate Protein Shake mixed with 1% milk, a spoonful of peanut butter and sometimes 1/2 a banana...that's about the extent of what I do for Breakfast though. I don't care much for eggs and they don't seem to go down very well for me...

Carnation Instant breakfast sugar or sugar free! I usually add in a half of a banana or a scoop or Protein powder and I am set until lunch!

Ii might have to try that with strawberries.

On weekdays I do a Protein Shake made with banana and milk. It keeps me going right up to lunch.< /p>

On weekends, I splurge and do an egg and slice of bacon...sometimes a piece of toast. If I'm in the mood for something different, I'll have a slice of toast spread with about a Tablespoon of Peanut Butter and a sliced banana with a glass of cold milk.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
