If you want variation of flavors go to the store and buy some Protein shake mixes, yogurt and fruit juice to mix/blend with or over ice.

You can always do sugar free carnation instant Breakfast with skim milk, or boost/ensure glucose versions.

It's really very easy to do the diet (on mine now) just create some flavors you like. Are you able to have food as well or just shakes and broth?

Let me know and I can give you some ideas.. Also there's some shake recipes in my blog.

Hey good luck! I actually start my pre-op diet on the day of my first and only final - I'm hoping I won't be starving! I can actually have some food so I'm thinking I'll have that meal during the day before the final instead of for dinner.< /p>

Good luck!!

Ladons- my dr told me that 1 bad meal could mess up the whole diet b/c the reason for doing it is to shrink the liver. I dont know what you have been eating but you should probably try to stick with it.

I can have shakes and broth, and sugar free Jello and pudding. No food. I think I am going to be able to do it! I have enough will power!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
