I am three weeks post op and for the first time - I felt something. I leaned over to pick up something from the floor and when I stood up...this weird feeling right under my right breast. Hard to explain. I can only guess it is the band. I've not had this experience before. Anyone else feel an alien in there:scared2:?

Yep, I feel mine every once in awhile. Especially when I sit in a slumped position or bend over too far.

Yep. I can feel my port. I'm pretty well healed now (surgery Oct 8), so I have to push around to feel it; however at about three-weeks to a month out, I was crouched down and had some pain on the inside where I could clearly feel something foreign in there.

No doubt about it, baby. We've got implanted devices!

Wait until you start losing weight and you can see it! I can totally see mine a good part of the time and other times I just feel it. When I talk about the band I actually subconsciously touch the port site! Very weird I know but it is kind of cool in a way!

I'm not sure if what I felt was the band or not. What does the pain feel like? Mine felt like a pin prick? Is that what the pain of the port is? I thought maybe mine might have slipped, but I did not do anything that could have caused it to slip. The pain only lasted the one day, and I have not felt it since. The pain was right under my left breast, which is where I had my surgery on November the 18th. I always thought it would be down on my stomach, near my navel, but all surgery was done right under my breast? Any information would be helpful.

It could be gas. They use it to "inflate" you during surgery so they can see. Walking around should help. It could also be referred pain, because of the way the nerves run through our body pain in the internal organs could reveal itself as pain superficially in a totally different area of the body.

Thanks I was starting to feel abnormal LOL actually I don't think it is the port that I am feeling. I can feel it on the incision. This is a weird internal feeling. Okay I'm letting my imagination run really wild, but I imagine the tubing is rubbing against my ribs or something. It only happens if I lean over really far? IDK weird, but not painful.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
