It's been 9 months since I had the surgery and everything seemed to be fine until last month where I started to feel this heavy feeling on my chest specially when I wake up. I feel I want to burp so bad but I just cant, I have to wait for like 2 hours until I finally get it out. What is this exactley ? is it acid, heartburn ? it's true that I haven't been drinking Water a lot specially when the weather got cold. Could that probably be the reason ?. Please help

First of all, consult your doctor. You may be a tad overfilled. Another thing you could try is a warm drink (i drink tea) prior to bedtime. It works for me.

I really encourage you to see your doc. This is how my pain started. A year later I had herniated and the band had slipped and Water was getting stuck in my chest. Had a new larger band put in on 11/23 and now life feels like living again and my raging heartburn has gone away.

Never mess around with chest pain. Always see a Dr. You can't tell if its band related, indigestion or something to do with your heart so you should always get it checked out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
