I am just wrapping up my three month supervised diet. Within the three months I have lost 7 gained 4 then lost 2. I was just curious if anyone else has BCBS - Texas. If so was it hard to get an approval out of them. I am hoping to send in all the paperwork the first week of January (if everything goes as planned) does it take days, weeks, months? Or is it really just how ever fast my doctor moves is how fast the insurance will move.

Also I feel a tad by the wasteside. I have only been in contact with my insurance once, and that was just to see even if they would cover the lap-band.

Is that normal? Why does it feel I have been so stagnent for the last few months? Is that what it's suppose to be like. I just really want things to start moving quickly!!!

I'm tired of waiting!!

I have BCBS of Texas. Submitted to Ins and got approval within a week. I'm scheduled for 12/16. My doctor mentioned that BCBS has been responding within 2-3days. Mine was submitted Thanksgiving week, so it took a little longer.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
