im also making an exercise chart woot

but yeah i would like the recipie to the protein smoothie, i just want to know besides the Protein Shake powder what else to put in it, i think strawberries and blueberries would be the best, do but orange juice in it?

I dunno about Issotone. I use Simply vanilla Syntax Matrix. My fav is a banana smoothie that is to die for! And I don't even like Nana's!

1/2 cup skim milk

1 banana

1 cup ice

vanilla (ya know the imitation liquid stuff)

a pack or two of artificial sweetener (i like sweet n' low)

1 scoop simply vanilla Protein mix.

YUMMMMM

Sometimes I also add 1/4 - 1/2 cup of (already mixed) crystal light's sunrise orange mixy drinky stuffy. Awesome! If you wanted to make it thicker consistency you could add plain yogurt or maybe some more fruit... blueberries... cherries... but even just the basic mix above is good.

Check out the great food finds thread on here and let us know what recipes you find!

oh and the Isopure Protein drink, do they taste good?

Hello,

I don't have any Protein drink recipes, but I did purchase the Isopure Nutritional drinks and they are pretty good! They would put you in the mind of Gatorade, not a bad taste at all. I was pleasantly surprised!!! :tongue2::P I actually bought them from CVS.

I didn't care for the Isopure Protein Drinks. I bought two cases and ended up giving them away because whatever is in them dries out my mouth...kind of like alum does.

For an extra special smoothie treat, I make a banana split smoothie.

1 cup milk, 1 scoop EAS Dutch chocolate Protein Powder, 1/2 banana, 1 Tbs Hershey's Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup, 2 Tbs crushed pineapple in juice, 1-2 frozen strawberries. Toss it all in a blender and voila.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
