breast lift/implants before reaching goal?

Recommended Posts

I started at my highest weight a 50DDD, on a good snug uncomfortable bra fitting day. Minus almost 57 lbs and I'm at a 42DD really comfortable fit. But the girls are taking the brunt of my weight loss! They look like they have gone through a pancake roller!! I feel like its time to put them on rollers to harnass them up so I dont get the bra cup lip. I spend all day tuggin on my bra to keep the girls where they are suppose to be. The shear weight of them keeps pulling my bra down. These poor girls point directly at the floor and hang about a 1/2 inch from my waist line! This is bad and my back is killin me!!

My doc said in 30 more pounds she would send me to plastic surgery. Has anyone had breast work done well before reaching goal? In 30 more pounds, I will have 40ish to go. I know they might sag again, but it cant be as bad as it is and sure can't hurt me as badly as they do now. And I am interested in the natural implants where they use your own excise fat for the implant.

Heck, I would even love a recommendation for a good bra thats affordable to hold these beasts in place! Thank you!

I plan on investing in Spanx. Even if I could afford to pay to have recon. surgery on my breasts more than once, I just don't want to deal with the pain or surgical risks more than once...and I certainly don't want to have to deal with the sag after I have gone through surgery.

If you get a full upper body garment, it helps eliminate/decrease the toll on your back because it provides more support than a mere bra.

I hear you, the booby thing is awful! At my monthly weight loss support group we just had a plastic surgeon and she said you should optimally wait 6-12 months after you lose your weight to have PS because your body takes time to recover from weight loss and you may shrink back on your own some. Elfie suggested Spanx, I will look into that as well. Give yourself some time though, imagine having surgery and then still toning up some on your own. Another thought I have is and I am just thinking this in general about PS not towards you. BUT what if you cannot maintain and you have had PS? HOLY CRAP! Give yourself a few months after goal to maintain then splurge on the PS.

I agree you should wait. I am at goal and the difference between where my breasts were 30 pounds ago and now is enormous. They were horrible and now they are worse...at least 34 long, LOL. Invest in the recommended garments and hang in there and wait.

My boobies now look like baseballs in tube socks. i lost about 70lbs and i think 50lbs were in my boobies lol. I have always had nice boobies a nice full C and high on my chest. When i started to loose weight i thought that my boobies were the only thing that was going to look good. My stomach is a mess. But they look so bad now but i know that i still have 50lbs to goal and they are going to get worse.

I would maybe wait until you are closer to goal or to goal because you don't want to be disappointed because if you get them done before you reach goal then you may not get the results that you want.

I had a Breast lift March 08 and had my LAP-BAND® 4 months later in July. The Dr. took me from a DD to a B/C cup. I went back in Jan. and had implants put in because the top of my breast was still kinda flat, I'm now a 38 full D. I still have to lose some weight and have my implants for a year this Jan. and I love my breast. they are the only thing that really looks good in my opinion. The rest of me has a lot of lose skin but the girls are kickin! I really think your PS could guild you on this because everyone is different but I'm glad I had mine done it helps me to still feel a little sexy behind the bat wing arms and mud flap thighs.:tongue2:

I was just going to suggest if you can't wait to do a breast implant rather than a lift. I had implants put in 6 years ago (pre gaining 100 pounds) and researched a ton. A lift was almost as much and the results still 'sagged' for lack of better a word. You'll need something more solid to hold em up! I'm hoping when I lose the weight my implants still hold up well, so far so good but I'm only down around 30 so far.

I'd wait. I've had a reduction and it's not something that you would ever want to think of doing twice unless there were some seriously special circumstances. If you do it now, you will inevitably be disappointed down the road when you've lost your new found perkiness.

Honestly, I'd wait.

You've still got a lot of weight to lose and the next 90 will make much more difference than the first 57 did.

I found that I was in despair over my saggy boobs, and that awful bra cup lip for most of my weight loss, I was a 40DD before and am a 32C now. But the last 30 lb REALLY shrank my boobs and at a C they sag less and are much more manageable and although they are just skin (I've also breastfed for six years) I can wear push up bras and such again without spilling over. But the difference in my breasts with the last 30lb was major and would most definitely have affected any plastic surgery I'd had quite markedly.

Just 40 lb ago I was thinking about a breast REDUCTION as I was still a DD and hated it. I'm not a fan of big boobs, lol. And suddenly, they shrank to a nice C.

Also, go and get fitted. If your bra is riding up your back, you are wearing too big a back size. I always assumed it was my large breasts that caused this to happen, the back would ride up to my shoulder blades, straps would fall off my shoulders and I'd look as dumpy as if I were braless. In one fitting I went from the 40DD to a 36E. It made SUCH a difference. The support them came from the back strap, not the shoulder straps and I looked much better, and was more comfortable, and my bra strap stayed mid back, it didnt ride up.

And my poor bobbies are super SAGGGGGGY! I am wearing a 40C that I dug up out of my closet today and its much better....what is Spanx?

Reneek--"My boobies now look like baseballs in tube socks."

I'm sorry to laugh but that is freakin HILARIOUS!! What a great description. Mine are heading down the same road as well, I will definitely look into getting them fixed when I am near my goal weight. Everyone has said it already, but I would wait too, Id hate to go through all that pain just to have them sag more once you do lose the rest of your weight. I think youd be happy once its all said and done.

I didn't wait because my insurance wouldn't cover it 100 percent after the first of the year. I was banded march 09 and have lost 84 lbs so far I am still 20 from goal. I went into a plastic surgeon and told him that I would still be losing weight after surgery. I also explained to him that I need to do it before the end of the year because of my insurance. He didn't have any problems really with my condition of losing more weight. I had my reduction done on 11/17/09 and currently am two weeks post surgery and doing good. I went from a 42 H to a 40 D. He said that he would leave me big because I was still loosing and that I will eventually see some saggyness but nothing like before. I am so happy that I did it.

Mud flap thighs?? Thats hilarious!! I have been looking for the proper terminolgy for what my thighs have become, lol!!! Bat wings, heck I make bats jealous. And I feel like I am at extra long tube socks, but still have a soft ball in the end, not shrunk to a baseball yet, lol!!

In all seriousness, I did get fitted for a bra, but I think I will go to Lane Giant and have them measure me, they seems to know a letter better. But I did measure myself and also came up with a 42. Someone suggested I try going down a band size and up a cup size and see if that helps.

I dunno what to do, you all have offered some great insight. Thank you!

I was worried about my "girls" for a bit -- I started out at around a 40DD (wearing a 38DD), but was really surprised to see them snap back into shape during my weight loss plateaus. I'm 39 years old, so they aren't exactly how they were in my 20s (before I put on all the weight. . ) but I was surprised to see how much my body was able to take care of things on its own.

My thought is that you should wait. . . and if you plateau at all, relax during that time and know that you are giving your skin time to shrink back into place. Hang in there! And, get a proper bra to keep things in place!

Best wishes,

Catherine

Spanx, Awww! a womans secret to the mud flap thighs. I love spanx. Their a control garmet with women in mind, made for comfort. Google them and you can order them on line or lane Bryant carries them. I order mine on line because by the grace of God I no longer fit lane Bryant's sizes. (WOO HOO) sorry, just makes me happy when I think about it. I love when I get my old plus size catalogs and I get to tell my DH to toss them because they don't have anything I can wear. Once again sorry, forgot what the topic was. Guess I need to post that on the non scale victory thread.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?
