Ahhh. Stomach Flu= Total unfill :(

Recommended Posts

So 2 days ago I had some nausea and vomitting related to a little bout of the stomach flu. Since then I found it increasingly hard to eat anything, and last night was unable to even get Water down. My stomach felt like it was on fire, total acid reflux, and it felt like someone was squeezing it. Oh my goodness. Just a tip from me to you.. if you get the flu do yourself a favour and get an unfill if you start to have pain or tightness. I went to my doc and had to have my entire band unfilled as my stomach was so inflamed. Oh well, I feel sooo much better now. Back to start again in 2 weeks.

Mella, I hope your doc gave you an anti nausea prescription for next time. You have a good attitude and this 2 weeks will be over soon. I am sorry it happened, though. Good luck,

Mimi

Glad you are feeling better. Bummer you have to endure an empty band for 2 weeks.

The same thing happened to me last year but my dr. made me go a whole 6 weeks w/o anything in my band. It was he-double hockeysticks! I was so glad to finally get some restriction again! I hope the two weeks fly by for you!

So sorry to hear this news. I do hope you are feeling better soon. Be careful of what you eat/drink during this time. It will be over before you know it. JUST GET WELL!!!!

Omg I couldn't imagine getting a total unfill. It would be on that's for sure. I'm sure I would eat everything in sight.

I had the stomach flu and luckly didn't have to get an unfill. I had the stomach flu a week after I had my gall bladder out and immediately went to the hospital because I thought my band was messing up. They gave me antinausia through an iv and that made me feel a ton better.

I hope u get well I know what u are going through.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
