My port hurt off and on for 3-4 weeks. It still bothers me if I lay on the stability ball doing exercises.

It will get better, though, I promise. After all, it is stitched onto your abdomenal muscles.

Good luck!!!

I hurt for a good 2 weeks there. Week 3 it was like I turned the corner and now at week 4 no pain at all there.

Mine did the same... I swear it was under my rib. It stopped... I still get a pain every now and then when I tie my left shoe and I am 5 months out.

It will go away.

IM two weeks out tomorrow and port pain stinks  Mine is DEAD CENTER, about 6 inches above my belly button, right above my natural waist, so everytime I sit or bend, I feel it. I really think it is not in a good place and may need to be moved.

Port pain is the worst. All other pain for me was gone in 4 days. It took almost 4 weeks for the port pain. I know this because I was told 6 weeks before sleeping on stomach again so I called the doctor when I woke up at exactly 4 weeks on my stomach one night, he said it was ok to start sleeping on my stomach again if I had no pain. BLISS!!

This too shall pass!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
