Christmas $100 grab bag help please!

Recommended Posts

Okay so my family has decided to do a grab bag this christmas just so everyone receives a gift. The spending limit is $100-$110 I have no idea what to write down on my slip. I don't want clothes because im very picky with my fits, same goes with shoes. I don't want restaurant gift cards because I've steered clear of them for over a year now and I don't want to start going back anytime soon. I don't really neeeed anything, so I'm really stumped. Please please pleaseeeeee give me some ideas I'm literally drawing a blank.

AMEX or Visa gift cards. spend them on what you want, where you want.

Or, start a new collection of something that interests you.

Or maybe supplies for a hobby you have been wanting to try?

Fancy cosmetics?

Something for your house---new sheets, quilt, etc.?

Donate your gift to a special charity?

Pampering, spa, fancy bath products

hair styling tools (I have my eye on the InStlyer...that's why I mentioned it)

Body care products: Clairsonic, electric toothbrush, foot massager, nono shaver

$100-$110 will get you a full hour massage at most of the nicer spas in the city. I can never bring myself to buy a massage for myself, but if I get a GC for one, I redeem it immediately!

Is there anything "big" you've been wanting to get? A new bicycle, a flat panel TV, a WII fit, an upgraded computer? How about a girls weekend with some friends? Ask them to pitch in toward that.

Have fun!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
