mominkansas 2 Posted November 26, 2009 Today is my first Thanksgiving banded. Any vets around to give me some tips? Most of my family doesn't know I had this done so any advice would be great! Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
GraciesMom 0 Posted November 26, 2009 Heated to perfection, at it's juiciest best broth, then to accompany that to inhance the meat, peach jello. Then as everyone knows you need the perfect beverage served at the perfect temperature, aged to perfection and served in the perfect glassware...sigh....a tea cup, tea. And of course, water too.
karibensea 7 Posted November 26, 2009 I just had my 2nd fill on Tuesday this week so dinner will be smelling great and looking just as good however not much will pass my lips today...
nfl1 0 Posted November 26, 2009 I will have a spoonful of any of the items. My doc says not to deprive yourself if there is a special occasion, but keep it at that special occasion, and definitely keeping ones head (in terms of volume). I swim 2-3 times a week (30 laps each time), and have been successful getting back on track the day after, but would obsess about it if I had to smell all the fixins and not have any at all. nfl1 0 Posted November 27, 2009 Congrats Sil!! I am getting a bike from my support group leader tomorrow, and can't wait to rearrange my office. I'm so glad that we can have a bite/taste of the various traditional flavors and not feel guilty (or sick).
Jackiepurs31 0 Posted November 27, 2009 Just tell everyone that you are on a diet, and have a little spoonful of whatever you want. I guess it depends on when you were banded...I guess if you are still in the mushy phase, you might have more explaining to do! lol
rachnett 1 Posted November 27, 2009 I ate the most glorious thanksgiving meal. A spoon full of dressing. A spoon full of green Beans. A spoon full of corn pudding. And a very small piece of juicy turkey. oh and a spoon full of yams. I'm a week past my 4th fill and am just loosening up a bit (i was very tight last week). It was wonderful to actually enjoy the meal and not feel disgusting afterwards!
sandiegokate 0 Posted November 27, 2009 Hi All, I started the day with a Protein shake (30grams) to make sure I was going to get what I needed for the day. For dinner we went to a casino that has a BIG Thanksgiving Feast. I was worried prior but all was fine! I stayed with the purses while everyone else got their food, then I went to explore, taking my time, and choosing a little bit of turkey, potatoes, yams, carrots/brussel sprouts, and gravy. I ate very slowly... not drinking with my meal as I should. My mom had knee surgery a few weeks ago so I got up and got her what she needed to waste some time. I did more talking at this meal than I did before too. Then I went and got a small slice of pumpkin pie and had some coffee... all was perfect!! I feel very successful and for once don't feel overly stuffed and icky tonight. Oh, a pleasant surprise was I won $100 on a 5 cent video slot type machine... yahoo!!!!!! I love my band!!!!!
