Pre-New Year's Resolution...No Holiday Weight!

Recommended Posts

I just got back in town from a vacation with a bunch of my friends and I'd be lying if I said I'm not afraid to weigh in. I'll weigh in tomorrow or the day after and let you know know how my "lose before New Year's is going".

I don't have my lapband yet but I say Dream BIG. If it wasn't a challenge you wouldn't be betting 100 dollars on it. Go for it and good luck.I think I will aim for 15.

(9/20) down. I was stuck at the same weight for about 5 or 6 days, but finally I moved some this morning!

Yup. Bit off more than I can chew. I've lost a whopping 5lbs. I'm in negotiations to restructure the wager part of this, double the money, same weight, more time.

But nonetheless, I'm determined to lose weight before New Year's gets here.

30 in a week would be dangerous, so hopefully they'll let you restructure. Or, you could cut your losses?

I am down 6 pounds. 9 more to go. 11 days. I got a Wii balance board and Wii Fit Plus friday. I have worked out an hour everday the past 3 days on it. Mostly doing balance games. I hope to do more aerobics on it this week. I love the yoga.

I hope you are making more progress on your goal.

I weigh 222 as of this morning... so 14 pounds out of 20! 6 to go... eee. Only a few days left, I don't think I'll quite make it, but maybe I will by next Monday.

Well, I'm officially a failure. I just got back in town from the holidays and I have a net gain for 2 lbs

Holidays are the death of me!

I gained 3...but I think that's partially because I moved from mushies to solid foods. I have 9 left until I reach my goal... well, even if it doesn't come by New Year's, that's fine, because I know it will be gone eventually ;)

I have lost 13. Two more pounds and I will have reached my goal. Cutting it close. Gives me something to focus on while schools out and I await my surgery.

I was out of town for 2 weeks but managed to lose 9 of the 10 lbs I was trying for. Can't complain about that!:rolleyes2:

We all got close, and we're all going to eventually achieve our goals, so I think this was just in good fun! I have my first fill on January 23rd (and I've been pretty stagnant at my current weight of 224). I've also upped my exercise so hopefully that will get me going again. I want to be 216 to reach my goal soon!

losing weight over the holidays if very hard! I kept in mind that I need to lose weight but over winter break I only lost a whopping 3-4 pounds! I am disappointed but I'm not going to let that hold me back. Lets set a longer goal for 50lb before summer.

Let me lose down to my first goal then I'll set a new one for June 1st... but it will probably be around 40 pounds.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
