Tummy Tuck is it worth it before having kids

Recommended Posts

When I reach my goal my biggest debate is whether I will get any plastic surgery work done. In my doctors office they also do plastics so I wont be worried about who I am getting it done by but whether it is worth it or not.

I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and wanted a Tummy Tuck ( my stomach wasnt THAT bad but who doesnt want perfection). Anyways now I am wondering if a tummy tuck would even be worth it if a few years down the road I have kids.

I want kids sooner rather then later but wont have any, any time soon as my life style ( single female traveling the world etc) just wouldnt work with kids. My pets are close enough as kids for now ( but always wish for a child... biological clock maybe?). But I am wondering if a tummy tuck will be bad for my stomach if I have one and then 3-5 years later have kids. Has anyone had a tummy tuck and then had kids? Will I need a tummy tuck again?

Not that I am anywhere near my goal but just thinking ahead

I would wait! I have 2 children and I was so stretched out and got so big during my pregnancies. After I had my babies, I had a lot of saggy skin. If your stomach doesn't look too bad, by all means....WAIT!

For me it is now or never. Once I go back to the "real world" I will be a student again and wont have money to do any kind of surgery. Plus everything is cheaper in Korea. so I cant decide whether I should get it done or not.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
