liberty2003 0 Posted October 19, 2005 This morning has turned out to be a sad sad morning..I got stuck..Literally..I know exactly what i did..I ate to fast..but as i was getting sick and throwing up I was home alone and very scared..I could barely breathe ..They all say that most of us will get stuck @ least 1 time..Well this was my turn. so i called my doctor..They sd not to worry about it because it happens, no one is perfect and its a learning experience..well guess what? i don't ever want to do that again.. So, I have to due two days of Clear Liquids, two days of Protein Shakes and two days of puree..That i can handle.. Was everyone this scared? I feel so tight right now..My doctor says because of the spasms and that it has to take time to let the swelling down.. UGH. Sorry for rambling..my nerves have gotten to me... Thanks, Kristen
chichigirl 1 Posted October 19, 2005 Poor thing, yea I got pretty scared the first time it happened to me, and still do when it still occasionally happens, I'm a slow learner sometimes. It makes me feel like I can't breath, which always makes you panic, big time. So, it's normal to feel the way you feel about getting stuck. Glad you called your doc, always a good idea just to make sure. Follow his guidelines for eating the next few days and you will be fine. Hope this never happens to you again, or me either for that matter, LOL. Have a good day, it's over and you're okay, that's what counts.
divaliciousdee 0 Posted October 19, 2005 Kristen girlfriend I feel ya. I had an episode with rice and it was not pretty. My eyes started watering my mouth started watering and I could not breathe! I was terrified. I remembered some posts on here about breathing through it and walking that helped but it wasn't over until the fat lady sang and believe me baby I sang! LOL. Stick with the liquids and follow your docs orders. I did liquids after that for 3 days I was terrified. Now I hate rice! I used to love rice but that was then. It only takes one time with me for anything and I am done. LOL Glad to hear you are okay.
lovecats85 2 Posted October 19, 2005 I got a soft stuck thing 2 days ago - I ate some mashed up meatloaf and mashed potatoes and it didn't really get stuck but it just went down weird and painfully. I felt like crap the next 24 hours and I got freaked out about slippage and my chest was tight and all that but I'm fine now. I think it's normal to freak out when your chest feels weird and you feel bad and you've never felt that way before! Hope you are better now!

Guest makoflats Posted October 20, 2005 So this "stuck" thing is fairly common? As I mentioned in a previous post I have panic attacks, so if your "blocked" you can't take a Xanax to relieve the Panic. Doesn't sound too good to me
PinkMary 3 Posted October 20, 2005 naahh of course i could take my xanax! it was not a panic attack.. i just scared cause it was the 1st time somethin was stuckin in my stomach.. i repeat, before doin anything for your weight loss you have to find a good therapist to cope your anxiety and panics.. to be hysterical and having hypohondria wont help you to be approved for a lap band surgery and to lose weight. do you see a therapist? Guest makoflats Posted October 20, 2005 No, no therapist, I don't really have the panic attacks now. I've hade surgery 3 times in the past two years and the panic attacks got worse each time after the anethesia, I'm just trying to "weigh" out the pros & cons of getting banded
Tamiko 0 Posted October 20, 2005 Has anyone ever experienced back pain when they get stuck. Mine starts to hurt in the upper part of my back never in the middle but kind of to the side.
