It will get better. I have only lost 36lbs and I am now 270 so I weigh more then you. The blubber still gets in the way but I have more energy. I'm up to 2 times a month now..lol

I hear ya sister!!!!!! I just got banded 11-9-09 and am hoping that this gets better real soon. This is the one thing that my husband and I fight about constantly, he wants it more and doesnt under stand that it has nothing to do with him and that it is me, he love me for who I am not what I look like, but that still doesn't change how often he gets it, which is about 1-2 a month. I am hoping that I get my sex drive back like I had pre babies/weight gain as life was good then.

This could be a really revealing thread

This begs the question...does the sexual drive of a obese person deminish because of lack of energy, OR does it simply deminish because of being obese and we are trying to justify it with excuses,i.e. no energy?

Since getting banded and losing weight my sex drive has increased. Big time. I just feel better and so much more confident.

Even at 290 pounds, I have never had an issue with my sex drive. My main concern is how long I have to weight after surgery to have sex. And is there certain things that can't be done do to having the band. I don't want any complications due to hanky panky:unsure:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
