Yes, me too. I am 45 yrs old. My highest was 210. I'm now 200. I'd like to be around 140-150. 150 would still make me "overweight". But I'm shooting for a number I can live with. 140 would be awesome! But honestly, I think the last time I weighed 140 I was around 11 or 12 yrs old. At 13, I was about 150. At age 5, I was 100 lbs. The Dr. almost didn't sign off on the school medical release for me to go to school! 140 lbs would put me at the highest "healthy" weight for my height. I just worry, It may be hard for me to maintain.

I'm 46 years old and needed to lose approx 48lb. I had my surgery on 2 june this year and so far have lost 42lb - only another 6lb to go to my original goal. I feel fantastic. The lapband is an amazing tool - I wish that i had the surgery years ago instead of wasting time and money on every diet known to man only to gain all the weight plus more back.

Good luck

Thanks for the replys! I have surgery this Wednesday only 3 days away now. So hard to believe its actually going to happen! I have ALWAYS been big, since I was about 10 years old. My biggest was in 1998 when I was around 310 I can not belive I am 208 now and have done it by myself HOWEVER its taken a LONG time and I have gone up and down and up and down inbetween. So I now hope that by the time I have my 45th birthday next June I will be around 16o or so. I had a son late in life and I need all the energy I can muster up to keep up with him (he's 4 1/2 will be 5 in june).

I have more like 90 to lose right now, but just want to say congrats to you for losing so much on your own AND realizing you need some help to take off the last 50. I took off 50 on Weight Watchers, then it got soooooo hard (hungry all the time) that I quit, gained it all back, got depressed about it, gained more. You are so smart to realize you need this tool now. And, I would put money on it that you will meet your goal!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
