Recommended Posts

hi again! my seminar is this coming saturday and im extremely nervous...my main concern is "where there be a lot of people there"? i have anxiety issues and im not good in large crowds, i get severe panic attacks...also are people allowed to bring someone with them? ive already discussed my issue with the person who confirmed my seminar date...my grandma has alzeimers and i take care of her so she needs to come with me...but i dont wanna be the only one who brings someone, i will feel dumb...thanks to everyone who can help me get a better understanding of what the seminar will be like...oh and also, do they make you stand up and talk in front of everyone?

thanks again, beth:redface:

The Seminar I went to I took my 17yr old daughter with me & there was people who brought LITTLE kids there. There was a decent amount of people @ the one I was @ but not extremely crowed.

I went to a couple of seminars, and while they weren't standing room only or crowded, the rooms were full. A lot of people brought someone with them. The only people who talked were those that had questions.

You are more than welcome to bring people with you - most do.

No talking unless you want to - it's mainly listening.

If you don't like crowds sit near the exit - if it gets to stressfull go in the hall for a couple minutes and take a breather.

You'll be ok - it's not as stressfull as I had thought it would be.

I attended two seminars--I didn't feel like the first practice would be a good fit for me.

My SO went to the first seminar with me, and I think that every other person there had at least one supporter. The second seminar conflicted with my guy's schedule, so I went alone and I was the only one there, which really shocked me. I was actually worried that I'd be the only person there who didn't have someone with him/her!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
