still eating after fill

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill yesterday the 17th Nov, 5ml in a 11ml band but i am not feeling any different. Should i be feeling normal to eating as i was before the banding??

Though i did feel the band tighten and if i eat and lay down i feel sick but i dont know, does it mean i need more fill or am i just a bad person???

Anyone able to shed light on this for me please

Cheers:frown:

My tip (other than in the other post) is not to lay down while eating! You shouldn't feel restriction until you start eating. Then you should feel full fairly quickly. You shouldn't notice the restriction just walking around going about your daily life. I'm sure you're not a bad person!

Work on that self esteem issue!!!!! Of course you are not a bad person, silly!!!! It is rare for 1 fill to give real restriction. The fact that you can feel a little difference is excellent. Watch your diet and exercise and be patient with yourself til your next fill.

Turn that frown upside down....You are NOT a bad person!

To repeat what the others have said, what you're experiencing is perfectly normal. It sometimes takes several fills to get good restriction. Don't get discouraged. My personal belief is that it's better to coast your way into proper restriction. Also, you may find that you have good restriction that fades. As you lose weight, you're losing fat around your stomach, which causes the band to naturally loosen. As you're getting closer to your goal weight, very small adjustments may be all you need. Good luck, and cheer up!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
