Sexy is an Attitude

Lisa, that's a great pic.

My mom told me the other day that she wished that the me from high school would come back. I used to dye my hair funky colors and make outfits n' stuff like that, just to be different. I'd design something, create it, and wear it. I quit doing that when I entered the corporate world. Now I want to do it again but I'm afraid of what people will think.

Why is fear so easily engrained in the brain? I want it to go away so I can do fun stuff again. I'm going to start on Halloween. In my mind it's an excuse so that if anyone says anything I can just say "It's Halloween" and shrug. I'm such a wus.

I totally want a Lisa makeover!!

Sarah, start slow. I was boring till a few years ago. I started by wearing a huge flower in my hair one Christmas party. Everyone loved it. Soon I got bold and wore a scarf. Now my friends tease me if I'm not wearing a scarf or at least one funky thing. I think the world is coming to an end or something, because I just have this urge to be completely WILD and OUTRAGEOUS! I'm not kidding, I think something weird is happening to me. I'm either on the verge of a nervous breakdown or I really do have vibes that the Mother Ship will be here soon to bring me back to my people.

Now follow these simple directions:

Pick up the phone. Dial your hairdressser, make an appointment. When you get there, tell him/her to make you look fabulous, then close your eyes and let THE PROFESSIONAL do the magic. When we tell them what we want, we always come out looking like we're "wearing a brown football helmet." ** Sally Fields, Steel Magnolias

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
