It took me a good two weeks almost three before I was able to sleep in bed.

After about week 4 I was not feeling any pain just slight tenderness.

On 11/18/09 I had my first fill and that was painful, doctor stabbed me for at least 10 minutes till we found the port, and its fill-hole. Hurt the rest the day and today just a little tendorness.

But the results are there, and showing, and I'm happy about that.

I've been trying to sleep in bed the past two nights but I'm just so uncomfortable. I am a stomach sleeper so sleeping on my back sucks! I have a problem too with my back and now that's causing me pain no matter how I sit, stand and lie. ugh!

I do feel better everyday... it's uncomfortable. I go to the doctor Wednesday for a follow up and I'm hoping that he says everything is healing well.

my doctor is very precise. day 1-7 clear liquids... day 8-14 full liquids... then for 2 weeks pureed... and for the final two weeks mushes.

I started full liquids today and it includes cream of wheat and yogurts so I'm good.

My directive was very similar. stage one, days 2-7 clear liquid. stage two, days 8-14 full liquids. (Includes yogurt, cream soup-no chunks, SF pudding)

The post op diets seem to vary greatly by location of surgeon and the doctor.

Enjoy your next stage!

Hey nkara, I am also a stomach sleeper. I have found relief with pushing a pillow or two under my side and sort of leaning into it to sleep on my side. I still change positions alot because I'm missing my stomach sleep, but so far this has worked. Best of luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
