3 Mins on Eliptical?!

Recommended Posts

it just means you arent used to it. i was exactly the same in the beginning. in a way its good because you are making yourself adapt fast and that usually means weightloss. after a while you will notice when you bend over and pick stuff up easier as well as getting up from a seated position cos your legs/thighs will be heaps stronger.

ok let me just say I LOVE the Elipitical. But I had to work up to it.

My first time on it I managed a Whole whoppin 2 minutes before I thought my legs would give up. I felt so bad (mentaly) about not being able to do more then that. But the next day I got back on and did 4 minutes...then 6 then 10 then 15 then 20 then 30 every time I pushed myself a bit harder to get the hang of it. I am not up to an hour on it. and I feel exilirated when I get off. To see the little things get on and only able to complete 10 minutes and check out my time as they walk by feels great.

Now I am going to try some sprints on the elipitical along with my normal pace. To bump my metabolism up.

I say give it another shot. I find it to be easier on my joints then the treadmill and I also go faster and further then I ever did on the treadmill.

When I first started working out I was 330 lbs and I started on the elliptical too. I thought I would die after about 3 minutes too! I kept at it and eventually worked up to a full hour on the elliptical. It was hard to do, but I just kept adding a couple of minutes each time.

Keep at it! It's hard, but it will get easier!!

how much weight have you lost

One other thing to try might be to work on it near the beginning of your workout when you aren't tired. Even an extra 30 second or a minute each workout will make a difference. You'll be surprised how quickly you are able to increase your time. I never worked up to an hour as some of the others, mainly because the gym only had a couple machines and others were waiting. I liked liked it better than the treadmill, so it was always my first choice, then the bike. I found I had more energy for the bike after the eliptical too.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
