steveelea 61 Posted November 15, 2009 Strange question I know, but I am wondering if I will ever be able to eat popcorn again :wink2: I am still in my liquid stage and am not asking if I can have it now of course, but I was wondering how people with the band tollerate popcorn once they are on solid foods?? It's made me wonder if it sticks because it is so dry, or if most can eat it like they can eat crackers etc.
allielee 263 Posted November 17, 2009 Hey there.. congrats on your banding.. I eat popcorn occasionally but I can't eat crackers. When I do eat popcorn it is always less than a cup. But I love to snack on popcorn when at the movie theatre. I hope that helps.
aubrie 6 Posted November 18, 2009 I couldn't eat it for the first year. Now I can, but have to eat it really slowly. I eat one popped kernal at a time, and let it dissolve on my tongue before chewing and swallowing. Be careful with the skins. If I get a hard, crusty piece, I spit it out. They are sharp enough to cut your gums and get stuck below the gum line, so they must be sharp enough to cut my narrow stoma while passing through the band.
