Famous Bandsters?

I'm dying to know what Star Jones did. One season she was fat and then the pounds just fell off of her.

I wrote to the View and asked how she had lost the weight but I received no answer.

I think Star Jones is definitely Gastric Bypass. She was way too heavy for way too long. I just dont see her loss and the slow steady band loss.

I agree with itsyvonne about Anna Nicole. I don't think it was trimspa baby. I would guess she went on the coke diet... and I don't mean cola...baby.

I just wonder the Circumstances of how they lost there weight so quickly.........I have been fighting my weight loss for eleven month now. Each person is different with there own level,s of weight loss ,Metabolism only goe,s so far!

I,am happy for there weight loss no matter how they lost it, but deep down I don,t think they think like A, common person because, they are worried by what people think, there next movie, and so on!

so then the lying begains, I, think?. Just think on the other side of the coin you have those girl,s marykate or ashly sticking there fingers down there throat and the other model,s that due that and teach the young girl,s that this is acceptable! to be thin at any Cost!!!

It,s to bad that we live in a (" Society") where we are judged by are shape and not are mind,s & discriminated because some of us don,t fit the requirements or are out side the Norm!

Good point! I think alot of celebs lie about everything from gastric bypass to anorexia and I have sympathy for them b/c everyone in my life is supportive of my band - but then again, only my friends and family know - things might be different if I had paparazzi on my front porch and Star magazine making up stories about me. I sympathize with celebs who lie or don't tell - it's just the ones that endorse other products that make me mad. And even if they didn't lose weight surgically, I don't belive they did it by diet alone which is what they make it sound like on thier endorsements. I bet I could lose alot of weight on Jenny Craig or Trimspa-- but only if I had personal trainer, personal chef, personal shopper, maid, etc.

I personally don't care how Kristi alley is loosing the weight...but I'm pretty sure she isn't be honest about how much she has loss or has to lose. One magazine article said she had lost almost 50lbs...and had 30 more to lose to get to goal. COME ON...so she at her heaviest was only 80lbs over weight? Give me a break, the gal is tall, so she would be able to carry her weight better than a shorter person. She was pretty heavy...I'd say at least 100lbs overweight if not more.

I am sure Star Jones has a band. I watched the show the other day and there was food segment about Peanut Butter recipes. Each time they tried something she would avoid EXACTLY the dishes I would avoid but tried the ones I would try. (LOL, Is that scientific enough evidence? LMAO) Also how much has she lost in what time frame? She has lost alot I know, but so have I. Each person is different and we react differently and we do different exercise etc. I have lost 119lb in under nine months and have heard on the grape vine of my small country town that I have everything from gastric bypass to cancer!

I read that she isn't going to discuss how she has lost the weight, and I don't blame her...I wouldn't tell everyman and his dog either.

Yea but recall that this is the same Star jones that wouldn't shutup about her wedding to Al Reynolds. I was so happy when they got married...I was tired of the "Oh Al this" "Oh Al that" *bleh*

Anna Nicole did lose all her weight with TrimSpa and you can do it too. Take the TrimSpa, then take some more, then for lunch have 3 more pills, snack on some pills for dinner and take a big fistfull before bed.

Anyone can lose weight if they are willing to kill themselves in the process. I was always too scared to OD. Guess she wasn't. I can't hate her for doing what I wouldn't do.

I always said after I lose all my weight, I was going to contact every diet service, plan and infomercial out there and show them before and afters and say I did it on their plan. I should make enough back to pay for my band!

:(

GREAT Idea... It worked for Jared, right?

I wonder if we could sell a KFC diet?

Exactly. Jared, Anna Nicole, Kirstie and all the rest of them. They ain't poppin Trimspa pills or throwin back a 6 in sub to lose the weight. We all know there's more to it than that, but when you're overweight you're desperate to try anything that could possibly work and unfortunately that's what every diet pill maker in the grand USA knows. They make a TON of money every year because people believe what they want to. We have all learned the hard way I'm sure and our intelligence is insulted when Kirstie starts throwing out her fat pants and praising Jenny Craig. BTW - did anyone see her on Oprah? She converted her living room to a gym. She gets her meals hand-delivered to her from the Jenny Craig rep. I'm sure it makes losing easier, but let's see how long she keeps it off, eh?

Ok, I just saw the article that Kirstie Alley told Oprah she topped the scales at 219 ---- Ok, I'm sorry but if I topped at 245, she was WAY over 219!!!!!

Randy Jackson did not have the lapband he had the gastric bypass; he has the dumps and all; read several articles about it and heard him on talk shows also.

I just read that Star Jones had bypass, but then again just like T.V. I don't believe everything I hear or see.

I am not bothered by celebs not being honest-I mean I don't think it's right but,..Advertisments are there to sell a product, these people are actors, It is up to us to make educated decisions on what we buy or believe.

just my 2 cents

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
