Best time to eat BREAKFAST !!!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am 4.5 months after lab-band surgery, I have lost about 57 lbs since my surgery, but what I want to know is that, What is the best time to eat Breakfast for optimum weight loss and what is quick and easy for that???

I wake up at 7 am to feed my q yr old twins their bottle, get my 10 yr old ready for school and his breakfast and stuff, babies take their nap and I make their babyfood.

I don't eat anything until 12:00 pm since I wake up. Is this good or not?

Please let me know, does the motabolism stuff matter after LAP-BAND® surgery or not?

Research suggests that Breakfast is the most important because it gets your metabolism going. There's no reason LB surgery would change that, if true.

Personally, I eat my first meal at 7 a.m. and then eat a small meal every 3 hours (6 small meals a day).

Yes, you should be at least drinking a Protein Shake every morning. Breakfast is important. Six small meals a day has been proven to be better for you anyway. That is why they recommend it to diabetics. More balanced.

A high-protein breakfast was my doctor's first diet rule. I'm guessing it has to do with metabolism, but for me, it helps me not to graze during the morning. I am usually tight in the morning, so I can't eat right when I wake up. I usually drink about a quart of Water in the a.m. (from 5:30 - 7:00 a.m.), drink about 1/2 mug of hot coffee, then eat a boiled egg while I'm driving to work at 7:15.

for whatever its worth my practice advises eating when hungry so that could mean skipping breakfast. I said REALLY??? isn't that bad for you? In any case they are ok w/ 2 meals a day. I end up doing 12 noon 5 pm then 8 or 9 pm they just tell us to listen to our bodies. sometimes i will do a Protein Shake in the AM. I am gettiing enough Protein

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
