Ritz Crackers on Mushy Stage?

Recommended Posts

I have heard of people posting about them on their mushy cassaroles and eating them with tuna. Have you had them on your mushy stage? I know they normally them to melt in mouth if chewed correctly.

Yes. But they are full of fat. Not what you want to be eating particularly in the beginning of your journey. Also they are dry and when you crumble them they can cause a problem in your throat. I personally chose to stay away from starches and such. It just helps with the fat burning process. Anything that you add on your meal such as Condiments, crunchies, etc. is adding calories.

My nutritionist said I could have 5 Ritz with my tuna. I don't have a problem with them since I don't eat them daily.

Thanks. I am aware of their calorie content and am not expecting to eat them everyday. Also I bought the new whole grain ones so they arent as bad.

I ate those and saltine's with fat free butter spray during mushie stage. I thought they were god sent, it felt so good to actually chew something by then. ;-)

For me I did Wheat Thins with chicken salad.... At the time it was the best meal I had in like forever. Loved it.

Now to get me some Sloppy Joe for lunch.

Getting past this no bread can be tricky but so far seems rewarding.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
