lovecats85 2 Posted October 18, 2005 Tonight I think I got stuck for the 1st time. I was eating some mashed up meatloaf and mashed potatoes and one bite seemed to go down weird and ever since then I've felt tightness in my chest and somewhat of the "golfball" feeling and a sore throat. But I didn't get any slimes. Can you get stuck and not have slimes? I am so paranoid about slippage that I just had to ask this question. Anyways, I am going to go all liquid tomorrow for sure! sunnykim 0 Posted October 18, 2005 Ive always slimed up when i somthing got "stuck" except for the first and only time i ate bread since my band that that felt like a heart attack. Im not sure if that helps but i though i would add my 2 cents. Kim
princess_n_thep 2 Posted October 18, 2005 Sounds like a soft stop to me. Its the "warning". At least you found your warning sign!!!
the best me 6 Posted October 18, 2005 one bite seemed to go down weird and ever since then I've felt tightness in my chest and somewhat of the "golfball" feeling and a sore throat. But I didn't get any slimes. STOP EATING SIGNAL! And you probably ate a little too fast between bites or too big of a bite. Yep, stop. At least go back to full mushies for tomorrow and slow down. Start memorizing these feelings...they'll come in handy later.
Nykee 13 Posted October 18, 2005 I still dont get soft stops and hard stops and the feelings people have.. Everyone seems to feel something different. Seems she went past her warning sign? Or took too big of a bite and such.
lovecats85 2 Posted October 18, 2005 I think the bite was too big b/c it was only the 4th bite so I wasn't too full or anything. Anyways, I don't know why I didn't have slimes but I do know something didn't feel right and I am doing liquids today. I feel better this morning but a bit of nausea. I'm just so scared of this thing slipping! I can't afford a slip repair!!!
LapBandFan 22 Posted October 18, 2005 Laura, Yes, I have gotten the "stuck" golfball feeling without the slimes. That is your signal to stop right then of course. You won't get this unless you have eaten to big a bite and did not chew it well enough. Just chew chew chew until the food in your mouth is mush before swallowing food and take very small bites and eat slow. I have had a slip with replacement of band and I want to help in anyway I can to advise people who are new to the band. Feel free to send mea private message any time you are scared. You are smart to go back to mushies for a day. Good girl! Take care and good luck with it.
