josephine 1 Posted November 13, 2009 I don't smoke anymore but I did up until my Tummy Tuck. Doctors prefer you not to be a smoker as they find it dangerous while under anesthesia. I smoked throughout my weight loss. Josephine
Lyndz421 0 Posted November 17, 2009 I was banded on the 22nd of October. I smoked my last cigarette before surgery at around 11 PM oct 21st cause they had no smoking after midnight haha. I waited a few days and tried to smoke again.. but it really hurt. So I waited a week, once my lungs were back to normal and I was on no medication smoking was not a problem.. I really should quit though lol.
laree 0 Posted November 19, 2009 I never quit smoking. Even after I left the hospital I had one. If you decide to not quit don't lie to the doctor. Ask them to do a lung function test on you before your surgery. That way they know if you need special anesthesia. I'm not going to lie it hurt after surgery, I think that a pack lasted me two weeks. But now it is fine.
