I went in today for a possible unfill. I am sliming after meals and wanted to make sure I wasn't doing damage.

I was there about 9 days ago and have lost 10 pounds in the 9 day. The tech said that was far too much weight to have lost and seemed concerned. Total since my surgery I have lost about 42 pounds.

He did not unfill me surprisingly enough. He said if I were sliming in between meals he would have but felt that my band was the best he had ever seen it.

Anyone else been told that they are losing too much too fast?

I cant figure the logic between saying you'd lost too much weight too fast and then not connecting that to fill levels.

When did you get banded?

When you say you are sliming after meals - is the food not staying down? Your weight loss is certainly faster than it should be, but it's such a short period it's hard to judge - if this becomes a long term trend I think it would be dangerous. If your tech is not a doctor, maybe you should check with one.

When food isn't going down well, you may start to salivate which mixes with the food. I usually brought food back up after this, and it is slimy. :)

I was banded on June 17th and have lost 60 lbs. No one at any time has told me I have lost too much weight. Some months I lose 10 pounds or even sometimes I lose 7 or 8 pounds in a week. There was one month I plateaued and didn't lose anything. My GP actually told me that I hadn't lost enough! My surgeon told me that was ridiculous and I am losing just fine.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
