Quotes -

The easiest way I have found is to copy the text I want to quote and paste it in my message. Then I put the quote tags around it - the starting quote tag is "["QUOTE"]" (without the ") - at the end of the quote put the ending quote tag "["/QUOTE"]" (again without all the "s)

Good luck! To see the real quote tags, hit the quote button above, type something in the box, click okay, and then in the message you'll see the correct format.

I am so glad that my surgeon has a very rational view on all of these things Sue mentioned.

He didn't require a liquid pre-op diet at all - THANK GOODNESS!! His post-op diet was set up for a week at a time, with transitions into the next level of foods at the end of each week. I started transitioning on about the 5th day of each week, and let me tell you, knowing that the next step was just a few days away was the only thing that kept me sane during those awful weeks of liquids!

Week 1 - Clear Liquids transitioning to full

Week 2 - full liquids transitioning to mushy

Week 3 - mushy transitioning to solids

Week 4 - normal food

Went in today for my 3-week postop appointment; when he found out that I was tolerating solid food well, he went ahead and gave me my first fill (1cc). I was glad, because I already didn't have any restriction once the surgical swelling had healed. It would have been nice if he would have done it under fluoro, but hey, I guess you can't win them all!!

Great thread! Donali, I'm with you. I didn't get the band only to still count points and calories and carb grams. It never worked for me anyway.

And Sue, I agree that the pre-op diets above all are absurd! Luckily my dr. didn't tell me to do one. It wouldn't have made any difference if he had. I had been trying to diet for the two years previously without ever really being able to stick to it successfully. Hence, the band.

Sue,

You have hit on some of my biggest band pet peeves!

Another one that I read was that Bandsters should avoid red meat for a year.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
