Wow:biggrin: I can't belive it I'm going to be band on Thursday.:smile2: I have done great ,the past 2 1/2 weeks I have been on the pre-op diet and it's not so bad at all. I have 2-3 Protein Shakes and some days I don't eat just have the shakes. It seems that I look at food differnt . I know what I have to do and I'm not going to let food make me fell.

I'm getting mine on Thursday too, that makes us band twins or something right? lol :)

I've been on a preop diet for 7 days now, 3 shakes a day and a healthy choice meal for dinner. Needless to say I'M HUNGRY! lol But excited about getting the band in just 3 days!

Good luck to both of us! :smile2:

Make that Triplets!!! Me too on Thursday! I only had pre-op diet since last friday though. I am breezing through this because I had worked so hard in the last 2 months. I do have too confess though...I wish I would of had a "last meal". My birthday was Sunday and I did have a piece of b-day cake. (very small) but counted the calories in my daily log!!! What a wonderful road all 3 of us have ahead of us!!!

Good luck with your journey. It will be 3 weeks on Thursday for me. I concur....WALK, WALK, WALK after your surgery. The incision pains subsides pretty quick, but the gas pain can be challenging. I had no idea and it came as a surprise to me. So walk as much as you can for the 3-5 days following surgery. I promise you, it will help.

Best of luck to all of you!!!

Me too! I go in Thursday for banding. No pre-op diet from my doctor but I've been trying to behave. I do know I have gained weight since seeing my doctor to schedule my date.. I hope I don't get in trouble. I did ask specifically if I had to do anything pre-op and he said no just NPO after midnight Wednesday.

I have to admit I'm very nervous now.... I also have to give myself Lovenox injections for two weeks after surgery twice a day.

Good luck to all!:tongue2:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
