Obamacare must lead to medical care rationing. Despite the democratic rhetoric, the government (taxpayer) will be unable to afford basic treatment for everyone, let alone the lavish care most Americans expect to get for free. Those to be denied first will be the aged and the chronically and terminally ill (poor bang for the buck). After that, the U.S. Dept. of Wellness will exclude people with self-inflicted illnesses, beginning with smokers and fatties. Based on what's happening in England, drinkers should also expect to be on the short list for denial. The cash-strapped National Health Service spent $4.4 Billion in the last fiscal year treating patients for drink-related ailments or injuries. Admitting they no longer can afford to subsidise Britians growing binge-drinking culture, a consequence of the sloth and idleness that comes with socialism, NHS officials promised to help HC providers "deal with" the mounting medical bills related to alcohol use and abuse. The clear implications is the NHS is moving towards defunding the coverage and redefining universal care as medicine for everyone whom politicians and government beaurocrats deem deserving. Imagine what our government will start denying us fatties if they are in control of our HC?

Another right-wing buzz word to add to my list: rationing.

1) Please explain how the insurance companies, right now, denying a procedure is NOT rationing.

2) For rationing to NOT be taking place right now, that means that 100% of everyone who requires a procedure gets that procedure. Prove that everyone gets all the procedures they require under our existing plans.

3) Show me in the healthcare bill where there will be a U.S. Dept. of Wellness

4) Without a public option, show me in the bill where there would be socialism (aside from the existing medicare/medicaid, which of course are not new).

5) And finally - England's healthcare system has nothing to do with our current or proposed healthcare reform. It is irrelevant to this discussion.

Oh yeah, makes sense, patty. Down with any changes to our health care system because it is so grand having the profit-making, greed-driven insurance companies making all my medical decisions for me.

So, we should go from one corrupt form of HC practice to a worse one? I say that since 85% of Americans are happy with their HC the gov. should back out of their plan to change things.

At least it's not the ones who are supposed to be on your side. (the government) What's the difference which greedy, profit making company controls your decisions? At least right now, 85% of the people are okay with what they have. Who knows what they'll get if the government is in control. We all know how government programs turn out. failure. bankrupt. deficits. higher taxes. waste.

First you were against the public option because it would put those poor private health insurance companies out of business.

Now the plan doesn't have a public option and you are complaining about rationing, which also won't happen.

The plan mostly covers those without insurance. It really doesn't affect those with insurance. Because most of that is through an employer. An employer, however, can change the company that it uses for health insurance, but that is their call, not the governement's.

So all this talk about government control is just nonsense and not true.

It doesn't affect them, yet. But can't you see down the road when employers see that they can get gov. ins. for their employees at a savings from what they are paying private ins. companies and will switch to the gov. plan? Can't you see that that is Obama's long term plan? to get everyone on the gov. plan.He knows it wont happen right away. He even said that while he campaigned. He knows that eventually, over time, the not for profit gov. plan that anyone may choose will take over all the other options and then there will be NO OTHER OPTION but that one. How is that choice for Americans? And he is a liar as well. He said many, many times during his campaign that CSPAN would air all the plans for every American to see them. He promised an open door policy, yet his cronies are forming the bill in secret where the American people can't even read what's in it. He allowed state senators to take bribes that are costing the rest of us billions so that he could pass this HC plan that the people don't want. I'm glad to see that the government has a lawsuit against them for the bribery crap.:)

It's like you're saying there's this big boogie man - President Obama - and he's on this huge Quest to do everything in secret to turn this country into a socialist republic. It's friggin' hilarious!

You want to observe secrecy? Just try to open up the Bush administration to scrutiny.

President Obama has been the most open president we've had in a long time. For you to accuse him of being secretive is amazing.

And you all have been saying from day one that the Democrats want socialized medicine. That argument wouldn't fly because it is so incredibly stupid and wrong that you all got embarrassed and shut up about it - finally. Now once again you're trying to say that the President has a secret plan to give us socialized medicine. I have a sneaking suspicion that you don't even know what socialism really is. If you did you wouldn't use the term in nearly every argument you make, because read my lips (to quote a Bush) it just doesn't make any sense.

Obama plan could limit records hidden from public

By PETE YOST (AP) – Dec 20, 2009

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama plans to deal with a Dec. 31 deadline that automatically would declassify secrets in more than 400 million pages of Cold War-era documents by ordering government-wide changes that could sharply curb the number of new and old government records hidden from the public.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama plans to deal with a Dec. 31 deadline that automatically would declassify secrets in more than 400 million pages of Cold War-era documents by ordering government-wide changes that could sharply curb the number of new and old government records hidden from the public.

He won't let us know what's happening in the 'here and now', but he wants everyone to know what's happened in the past. How ridiculous. Can we change the past? no. But the 'here and now' is what matters NOW.

Even Pelosi took a swipe at Obama's campaign promises and she questioned his committment to them.

He's a liar!

OOh, I can't wait for November! I see that Dodd has chosen not to run for re-election. How wise of him. He knows he doesn't stand a chance. And the nerve to say that he wasn't running cause he felt he 'should give someone else a chance at the opportunity'. How 'giving' of him. Oh, but Obama will find him a place for him to be used by the government. I'm sure the dems have asked him to step aside so that there could be a slight chance for the democratic party that is so prevelant in CT. With the offer of a career still in politics, with a nice salary and benefits, Dodd would be foolish to refuse. All the corruption from the dems in the WH and congress make me sick.

What’s the most surreal moment in the Pelosi clip? Is it Madam Speaker daring to tout the openness of a process marked by backroom deals, secret meetings with lobbyists, floor votes at 1 a.m., draft bills that no one’s read, and the lack of any conference committee — in other words, everything that Harry Reid once claimed to hate? Is it DCCC tool Chris Van Hollen playing revisionist historian by touting the townhalls as proof of how much Democrats love debate even though (a) Obama initially wanted ObamaCare passed in July precisely so that he could short-circuit public outrage before it built momentum and ( the Dems spent the rest of the summer demonizing the hell out of people who actually showed up to the townhalls? Or is it Pelosi having the gall to dismiss The One’s C-SPAN campaign promise with a blithe, chuckling, “There are a number of things he was for during the campaign!” Don’t blink or you’ll miss it, but it’s there. The Democratic Speaker of the House, laughing out loud — at a press conference — at what a shameless liar Bambi had to be to get elected. There’s a Change moment if ever there was one.by Allahpundit

Please quote your sources PG.

Never mind - it's from that conservative site entitled "Hot Air" - aptly named because that's what it's full of.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
