What will I be able to eat at Disneyworld parks?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am hoping for some tips on what I can eat at the Disneyworld parks over the thanksgiving week.

I will be 5+ weeks post op at that time, so according to my docs eating requirements, I will be on "soft foods". I am on mushies now and doing great!

Thanks for your help.

Disneyworld has every food you can think of so as long as you pick healthy things you will be fine.......... which may be hard because they have lots of yummy bad stuff lol

disney is very good about accomodating special diets. either ask to speak to the chef at any restaurant (including counter service) and they will make you what you need how you need it. or you can email specialdiets@disneyworld.com ahead of time and talk to them about it.

i have done this numerous times for my gluten intolerance and they have always been responsive.

i will most likely be up there thanksgiving weekend and i will just be starting mushies around then!

also it might help to go to allearsnet.com under their dining link they have menus for both table service and fast food locations but if you haven't made reservations for table services now for ur thanksgiving(this year) trip u will not be able to walk up to a table service restaurant and get seated as that week is one of the busiest of the year there i would suggest bringing some Protein shakes as a backup plan i go at least twice a year and last time i went was the first time with the band i had a fill 3 days before leaving so i sort of rushed through the liquids and that was the worst idea! i couldn't keep most things down but this was because i had not followed my surgeons instructions

btw if u end up at any of the buffets go to guest services at the parks and ask for a GAC pass saying that u had bariatric surgery allowing u to only eat about a cup of food so u should only be charged the child's price

good luck and have fun!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
