I had my surgery in July and I had my second fill yesterday and its nothing like my first one. My first fill was 2 months ago and it was 3 CC's which is the max supposedly and things were fine However yesterday when I went in I told him I was still hungry sometimes so he put in 1 CC more and today im feeling so weird. All I had this morning was gerber and the Naked Protein juice and the sugar in it made me crash. Earlier I had a cup of chicken broth with very small pieces of avocado and I am super bloated now. I cant burp and I have horrible gas. im wondering if I maybe I am too tight cuz although everything is going down its a series of burping in about 24 hours I can start eating solids again but I am scared that anything is going to get stuck.

The same thing happens to me after a fill. Sometimes the gas makes my stomach hurt--a heating pad fixes that--but it goes away after a week or two.

It seems like some people don't have this happen at all. I think I am just extra sensitive. I also have the burping kick in more after a fill and then it lessens over time. I use to never burp. I thank my lucky stars that I live with all boys because they think the burping is cool, even the DH.

I would take returning to solids very slow. I reintroduce soft foods one at a time and then solids over a week to two weeks also one at a time. When ever I don't follow this I have problems.

If you are not getting stuck on liquids you should be fine. Just take it slow and good luck.

I am so GASSY after fills..and the worst part is i have to fly 40 mins. to get them..so i do my best to 'hold it' the whole flight home..lol...but the week after a fill..well,i'm a machine! lol

I do the same thing... i can't burp after a fill. It drives me crazy and then the gas has to go somewhere so I get bad gas pains in my lower intenstinse. Sittin in an office all day is not easy as you have to "hold' it in and that just makes it worse... I think the best part of my day is when I hit the car afterwork and just let loose! TMI :) I always giggle to myself as I am driving down the road and think if that person at the stop light next to me knew what was happening that would be so embarrassing:blushing:

But I have noticed as soon as I am able to burp again, I can eat more and need a fill again. It has been averaging 3 weeks of restriction and then it get lose again...

Not sure what to do about the gas, but I understand. If you come up with something that helps let me know...

The only thing I have not tried is Beano... Has anyone tried this?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
