What do you eat????

Recommended Posts

Haven't been on in a while!! I have not lost anymore weight. Tomorrow is a new week and I want to start doing things right. I lost 30 lbs. and haven't lost anymore in months. I just had my third fill and I am at 1.9 in a 4cc band. What I want to know is what does a good bandster eat on a normal day? Breakfast ideas? Or any ideas. And also how often does everyone exercise?? I want to make this work. I went into alot of debt for this and I have not really followed anything, but tomorrow is a new day. Thanks for any input from anyone.

Good question. I would love to hear from some of those who have lost on a regular basis and continue to lose. I am too new to answer because I am still in the mushy stage. I can eat more than I should and I have. I have lost 14 pounds since 9/26. I would say 3 days have been "not so good", diet wise. On my good days I have 2 Protein Shakes and a local dinner plus a bedtime snack that is 150 cals or less.

Well, I am sort of a newbie at 5.5 weeks out from banding. I don't have a fill, but I am trying to follow my doctor's advice. 3 meals a day an don't count calories. No sodas and no snacking.

Today:

1/4 taquito (tortilla, eggs, and bacon)

muffin (strudel-not a good choice)

1/2 salad

3/4 white fish (baked with parmesan breading)

zuchinni (3-4 slices)

1/2 brisket sandwich (brisket and bun)

Funny thing, since I've been following his advice, this week, I've lost 2 pounds. Who knows?

Yes that's what I have gleaned from all of my reading...that we have to eat our meat, solid, and then our veg and carbs. So the soft food will get past the band and won't keep us filled up like the regular meat will.

Are you following the basic rule of eating foods that are solid and not getting into "soft food syndrome"?

Yes, pretty much. I look for the Protein first then veggie or fruit. Carbs are always last, but sometimes can't be avoided as in Pasta dishes.

Well how are you feeling restriction-wise after this third fill? Do you think it is helping?

I will tell you what I ate today, but I never found it all that helpful to hear what other people are eating ... YMMV. smile.gif

--------------

Plenty of Water throughout the day, I also make sure to take all my Vitamins & supplements (multivitamin, glucosamine chondroitin, Omega 3 fish oil, sometimes a couple of fiberchoice sugarfree tablets).

Breakfast- one regular serving GoLean hot Cereal (hi-protein hi-fiber) with two TBSP ground flaxseed.

Latte w/1 cup 2% milk & sugarfree Syrup

Snack- another latte as above

Lunch-couple of bites of spinach & pecan & sliced turkey salad w/vinaigrette dressing

-1/2 cheese/blackbean enchilada

-1/2 yoplait whip

snack - a few pecans & about four bites of above spinach/turkey salad

dinner - 1 oz roasted chicken breast, couple of spoonfuls brown rice, 1/2 cup of broccoli w/some shredded romano cheese, Danimals yogurt drink.

If I get hungry for a snack later, I will eat a slice of dried pineapple because it is pretty fibrous and fills me up, but yet satisfies my sweet tooth. Sometimes I use raisins for a similar effect.

I eat pretty normally... just smaller portions, except that I have absolutely no desire for carbs-rice/potateos/bread/corn/sweets. Which I used to survive on! I'm still amazed at that.

I normally eat like this (but try to vary it some from day to day):

Water, meds

B/F - 1 scrambled or boiled egg sometimes with a bit of ham or chicken and about 1/2 cup of fresh fruit or sugar free yogurt. If I'm running late I have a Protein shake or bar. Then I take my Vitamins on a full stomach.

Water

lunch - 2 or 3 oz of turkey, chicken or tuna, 1/2 cup veggies ... maybe a whole-grain cracker or 2, but not very often

WATER

snack - a bit of meat or cheese, or maybe half a Protein Bar, or some whole-grain Cereal with milk

WATER

Supper - 2 or 3 oz of beef or turkey, 1/2 cup veggies (different from the ones I had at lunch), fruit or yogurt... very occasionally I might have a Tablespoon or 2 of rice or Pasta - but that's rare.

WATER, meds

I really don't watch my fat intake - I find that if I cut it too low my skin gets super dry & itchy and my hair looks dull & lifeless. But, as you can see, I don't get a lot of fat from the foods I eat anyway.

I do count calories - though not strictly.. I just keep a running total in my head so I don't go over 1800.

When I first started eating solids I wrote everything down religiously and I will probably do that again if I feel myself loosing control.

I don't exercise as much as I probably should, but we live on a small farm and I get a daily workout that way. :) Along with 3x a week at Curves.

I'm 11 1/2 weeks post op and haven't had a fill yet so I'm hardly an expert, but thought I'd share since you asked.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
