first fill today after gaining back 12 lbs

Recommended Posts

There, I saiid it. I regaind 12 of the 21 lbs I had lost. I thought for sure that this first fill would help, the doc said it would. While I'm not starving, I'm not full either. I know it takes a few fills to hit my "sweet spot" and I cannot wait for that. My doc said he put in 4cc ina 14 cc band - a little much for the first time, but I begged to him to give me as much as he could.

Tomorrow I'm starting fresh, anew. I thought I'd be working on the 226 lbs I weighed, but now it's as if I'm starting from scratch. And to be quitw honest, I haven't exercised but twice since getting my band on Oct 1. So go ahead and let me have it!!

You have to exercise and choose the right foods. The band is going to help you eat less, but that won't help (especially until you get to your sweet spot) unless you are choosing high Protein, low carb, low sugar foods! I know this time period is hard b/c I'm in and I have pretty much stopped losing weight. I'm hoping a fill or two will help a LOT! (especially since everyone is asking me how much weight I've lost!)

Okay---forgive yourself and start again. Don't look back, just forward. You can do it. Keep a food diary, drink your Water, eat the Protein, low-fat, low carbs, and exercise. You can do it. Good luck.

I came home from running errands today (and getting a slight UN-fill) and the dog had dragged out 4 leashes and left them in the hallway right as i walked in. That was a reality check....lol. I got him so addicted to "power walking"/occasional sprinting that this past week, i've been a touch slack.

Forgive yourself and move on. Make the proper choices in healthy eating....those scales will start moving the right direction again. My scales went up a few lbs in the past few weeks, but only because i was too tight, and too stubborn to get an un-fill. Eating too many things that went down wayyyyyyy too easily.

Forgive and move on. That's what I'm doing too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
