goldielocks 0 Posted November 2, 2009 I am getting banded Nov. 17. I have severe OA in the left knee so bad that I need a total knee replacement. I have mild non-obstructive CAD, high cholestrol and hypertension. Also with that my cardiologist has dxd me this Cardiac Syndrome X. He is hoping that the surgery with help with the angina and that the body will reset itself. Anyone else here have Cardiac Syndrome X and if yes did it help? I am super sensitive to the drugs that they use to treat Cardiac Syndrome X. I live with constant chest pain (angina). I am so excited about it. I started this journey at 321 lbs and currently weigh 278 lbs. I started this on 3/30/09 and finally got scheduled for surgery on 10/26/09. I have BCBS and the actual auth only took about 1 week. My cardiologist wrote a great letter for medical necessity and cover all of my co morbities..
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted November 2, 2009 Hello Goldie! Welcome to LBT. I do not have nor have I heard of cardiac syndrome X. I do have high blood pressure though. I started out taking the max dose for HCTZ twice a day and 1 other pill once a day. I am happy to tell you that I am on the lowest dose of HCTZ once a day now, and I don’t even need any other medication. I am very close to being off all medications altogether. Best wishes on the 17th! J
