I was banded 8-19-09, and had a 14 cc band put in. I had my first fill 9-29-09 only 1cc put in already had 5.1 cc in it. Then on 10-28-09 went for next fill and have a total of 7.6 cc in it. I had no trouble swollowing Water and ok to leave. Now that I am able to eat, I can only eat about 3 spoonfuls of food (soups, cottage cheese). I tried eating meatloaf that was very moist and after a couple bites I was so full and had to vomit. Is this normal or do you think I have to much in?

I have no idea, I'm kind of new to all of this too! I will be interested to hear what people tell you. Good luck!

My last fill was very tight. I had to extend the liquid and mushie stages, but am now doing better.

BUT.....If you continue to throw up, you are too tight. They can take out just a very tiny bit and get you to a good spot.

I am thinking you are too tight, however it may still be irritated and swullen. Did you do the post op no hot liquids thing for a day or 2 after? I have more restriction with my last fill and things I could eat are giving me a little trouble now. I would definitely get a slight unfill if it keeps up! I am sorry you are having such discomfort...keep us all posted ok :scared2:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
