another wierd question

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I was banded April 22, 2009.......I had my 3rd fill Friday (actually my 4th, but had problems and had to be completly unfilled for 6 weeks). Now have 4.8ccs in 10 band.

I am having a hard time getting the food to go down in the beginning (when starting to eat), but after awhile I can eat and it takes alot to get filled.......So I guess I am not at my sweet spot yet........but does it sound like I am having any restriction???

I am very confused.

Help.

Thanks

i asked the very same question take a look at some of the replies in the thread..

i have trouble to with the first bite and the 2nd and i eat slowand band friendly things.. and im like hmm whats this about but as soon as u warm up ur esophgaus and it gets used to pumoing u can begin to eat..comfortably not rediculous amounts but more comfortably then truggling with the first few bites.. they call this first bite syndrome.

read the thread perhaps it will be of use to you.

good luck! and keep us posted.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
